Hari Om Namo Narayana!
12th house placements are always a little tricky and guess why? In ‘Vedic’ Astrology, the 12th house is ruled by the Goddess ‘Kaali’
There’s a reason for that and it would be worthwhile first of all, to understand the 12th house a little.
- See the 12th house is the house of the ‘other world’.
- Like the 8th house is the house of the ‘unknown’, the 12th house is the house of the ‘un-seen’.
- The 12th house is the last house in the chart.
- How the first house shows the body, the self and the point where the soul manifested in the body, the 12th house shows the undoing of the physical body, the release of the physical form, the point where the soul leaves the body.
- There is a deity ruling every house in ‘Vedic’ Astrology. For the 12th house, it is Goddess ‘Kaali’. The reason is that in Hindu Philosophy, ‘Kaali’ is shown as the form of the mother goddess that is transcendental to even death.
- This is the reason she is depicted as towering over Shiva, the God of Death, in a horrible fearsome illustration. It is to denote that there is a power even beyond death and it is her.
Coming back to the placement in question:
Wherever the North Node of the Moon ‘Rahu’ is placed, is the area of life that the native will have the most problems dealing with. It is also the area of life where the native will be most active.
Honestly speaking, is it a surprise therefore that the areas of Rahu placement give so many problems?
If your energy is going to be directed in that area most of the time, it is obvious that it will be the area that crops up the most problems too. Isn’t it?
- And so, ‘Rahu’ being placed in the 12th house indicates the soul’s desire to expend its energy and a continuous need to seek ‘release’.
- In ‘Vedic’ astrology, 12th house is referred to as the ‘Vyaya Bhava’
- The 12th house is the house of bed pleasures and all types of activities that release energy.
- Therefore walking, running can also be seen from the 12th house.
- You can also see the native’s desire to grow spiritually as the twelfth house is the house of spirituality.
- The problem with any North Node placement comes when you try to resist the flow that your soul needs to take to grow.
Therefore, people with the North Node in the 12th house are usually more inclined towards the activities of the 6th house, where the South Node ‘Ketu’ is placed.
The native is more inclined towards routine and perfectionism and conservation of energy by continuously working and repairing, fixing things and engaging in routine work.
The North Node however, wants to take them in a completely different direction.
The North Node in 12th is indicating the soul’s desire to ‘go with the flow’, to break away from routine, to expand spiritually and release energy and basically release ‘control’ and consciousness through engaging in sleep, transcendental meditation, sex, intoxication etc.
While a lot of these desires may not be concurrent with society’s rules and even personal expectations, it is what your soul desires and there are always constructive ways to direct the energy of a house to fulfill the soul’s desire for growth.
Therefore, for people with the North Node in the 12th house, here are some remedies to constructively exhaust the energy of this placement to ensure that you have more peace and also that you are able to progress in the journey of self realization:
- Build a solid meditation practice. Get classes, find a teacher or take a course but build a solid practice which helps you inculcate meditation into your routine.
- Try to relax your expectations of perfectionism and ‘control’. Learn to go with the flow and this will help you ease your anxiety and rest better.
- Walking and Running/Jogging can be very helpful and help channel the energy of the 12th house in a way that can be very helpful in enjoying good sleep.
- Learn to ‘let go’. For this, you can take the help of an energy healer and work on releasing emotions, thoughts and memories of the past that trouble you or keep swirling around your head without your permission.
- Charity can be helpful in channeling the energy of the 12th house. Try to donate more or just volunteer as a bid to help other people and fellow beings.
- The 12th house is the natural house of Pisces and Pisces is the sign of devotion, love and higher wisdom. You can build a Yoga practice, spend time in Ashrams and monasteries (also indicated by the 12th house) and work on becoming more compassionate and loving.
- Worshipping ‘Kaali’ can also be helpful in channeling this energy.
Hope this helps.
