Hari Om!
(I’ve taken two apt examples of personalities with these conjunctions to help illustrate the difference in expression. ‘Rahu’-Venus: Famous Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia; ‘Ketu’-Venus: Famous Indian ‘guru’: Swami Vishnudevananda)
- The main difference between a ‘Ketu’ conjunction and a ‘Rahu’ conjunction with a planet is mainly the manner of expression of the energies of that planet.
- When you have the North node conjunct a planet it means that you are here to learn how to develop the significations associated with that planet in this lifetime.
- In previous lifetimes, for whatever reasons, your soul probably did not get to experience the significations of that planet enough.
- Or it is possible that life circumstances and your choices under the veil of ‘maaya’ were such that your soul did not pay much attention to the significations of that particular planet in your life or to put it simply, those qualities were not developed enough.
- When you have the South node conjunct a planet it shows that through many lifetimes, your soul has acquired sufficient experience and expertise wrt the significations of that planet and now in this lifetime that expertise will come handy but the soul is trying to outgrow them.
- When you have the North node conjunct a planet it means that you are here to learn how to develop the significations associated with that planet in this lifetime.
So when you have Venus conjunct ‘Rahu’, it shows that this lifetime is providing your soul a specialized opportunity to develop the traits of Venus through all that life experiences, choices and circumstances that come your way.
Usually this is seen by the individual being over active in quite a ‘Venusian’ way.
All Venusian traits such as:
- Beauty
- Aesthetics
- Relationships
- Wealth
- Recognition
- Luxuries
- Fine dining, fine clothes, fine tastes etc.
- Music, Dance, Design, Song, Art etc.
all Venusian traits will be quite highlighted in your personality, life priorities, life path, life experiences, physical appearance, career and decisions.
More or less, these significations will be a priority for you and therefore you will always feel a ‘pull’ towards them and often find a natural ‘instinct’ to develop them.
Usually this is a very popular conjunction for film stars, wealth managers, media professionals, stock brokers/traders, designers, dancers etc.
- If you look at the example of Tamannaah Bhatia here, she ticks off all boxes wrt Venusian traits and you find those qualities expressed quite dominantly in her personality and life path.
- Even if these people aren’t professional performers or in the public eye or working with wealth or money, they will exude a lot of sex appeal, beauty and attractiveness.
- There is a lot of energy of ‘desire’ associated with ‘Rahu’ because the soul recognizes that these are things that it has prioritized for itself on its ‘to-do’ list for this lifetime.
- So there is a natural ‘luck’ as well as natural drive to develop these traits as much as possible.
- When you have the South node ‘Ketu’ however, there is a quiet confidence about our ability to tap into and harness that energy.
- You know you are capable of a lot in that area but it just doesn’t interest you that much for you to indulge in it too much.
- That’s actually a primary difference between the North node’s nature and South node’s nature in general.
- South node is signified with just the body without the head and the deeper meaning here is there is a lot of ‘ability’ but not really any ‘desire’ to use that ability.
- If the need arises, the South node is capable of channeling and expressing those traits in way that would not even be imaginable to the North node native, especially if we talk about it specifically wrt a planetary conjunction.
- However, 99% of the time, the soul has ‘been there done that’ wrt the significations of those traits and is no longer interested in dwelling on those lessons again.
- You know you are capable of a lot in that area but it just doesn’t interest you that much for you to indulge in it too much.
This brings us to a very interesting example and that is of ‘Swami Vishnudevananda Saraswati’.
- This is the man who developed the ‘Sivananda Ashrams’ in the form that they exist today.
- He started quite possibly the first Yoga Teacher’s Training Course in the West.
- He setup ‘ashrams’ all over the world that provide ‘yogic education’ and the ‘yogic experience’ in a very innovative fashion.
It is probably the only ‘ashram’ where you can go and stay for 3 days at a time in the form of a ‘yoga vacation’.
He setup these ‘ashrams’ in places like the Bahamas, Canada, France, Austria..
The idea was to provide the world with a unique getaway that helps nourish them to a soul level and also provides much needed solace from the rat race of the material world.
It doesn’t end here.
- He was deeply concerned about world peace and so in a bid to help with that, he taught himself how to fly a small plane and flew many peace missions in war torn areas even tossing out ‘peace pamphlets’ and flowers from his airplane!
- This earned him the name of ‘The Flying Swami’.
Think about that for a second!
I mean, there really can be no better example to show us just how different a conjunction with the South node and North node can be.
Sure what Tamannaah does as an actress, as a heartthrob, is no doubt a very Venusian thing to do in terms of the material plane.
What the flying Swami did is like tapping into an energy of Venus that one would not even imagine possible.
So that’s the difference between a South node and North node conjunction with Venus.
Check out the videos of both conjunctions below. I have discussed them on my channel in detail.
