Hari Om Namo Narayana!

(Goddess ‘Bagalamukhi’ is the ‘mahavidya’ ruling planet Mars and worshipping her can help reduce Mars related afflictions in the chart)
As usual, I am going to answer this question in detail. Before I do, some important points need to be addressed for a better background of how I wish to approach the explanation.
First of all, stop getting scared or excited just by looking at the name of a ‘yoga’.
It’s just an easy way to refer what that conjunction is about but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has some super powerful grip over your entire chart.
Okay?
For example, people are spending lakhs.. yes.. lakhs.. just to magically make ‘kala sarpa yoga’ disappear from their chart!
Lol
And then even after spending all that amount when they come to me and say I spent such and such amount getting this ‘puja’ done or that ‘puja’ done and still my life has problems..
I have to do my best to stop myself from laughing.
Why is that?
Well for one, many of these people are way older than me and I need to be patient in describing to them two very important things:
- Life is never going to be ‘perfect’ no matter how many lakhs or crores you spend in doing charity or performing ‘yajnas’ and ‘homas’ etc.
- If that were the case, then none of the great kings in history would ever have suffered.
- Any ‘homas’ you perform are not a ‘binding contract’ with a supernatural force to make your life easy. Lol please, get out of that mentality!
- If you think like that, then effectively what you are imagining is a reality in which the more money you have the easier it is for you to simply ‘transcend’ your life’s problems. Because by that logic, the poor person who doesn’t have the money to get austerities performed, is condemned for life! Right? Obviously not. So just get out of that mindset please.
Secondly..
I have done all kinds of austerities from ‘mantra’ to ‘tantra’ and ‘yantra‘ right from the time I was 14, that after all of them, one thing that I have understood is:
Any austerities you perform are just a tool to help your mind deal with some recurrent or systemic challenges in your life better.
- It won’t magically make these problems disappear. That’s not how life works. Let’s say even if it did, hypothetically.. Even then, you aren’t going to simply be able to escape the impact of transits like let’s say ‘Sade Sati’ or North node transit etc.
- I can share a personal example here. Back in high school when I was going through some of the worst years of my life, mentally, emotionally, physically.. I performed the ‘Baglamukhi Saadhna’ in secret. I did that to.. (now don’t laugh).. score well in my board exams because my mental health was so poor in that phase, I would study all night but go to the exam hall and become completely blank. On one occasion I was so depressed I couldn’t continue writing a paper I knew very well. So well, I was seeking divine intervention.
- However that powerful ‘saadhna’ didn’t help me score well. It did help me however in actually dealing with all the crap in my life and making the right decisions moving forward with an assertiveness that was seriously.. now that I look back.. impossible under the circumstances.
- I decisively cut off friends and acquaintances who were bringing me down, I chose my path ahead in terms of my studies and began to work on my real insecurities like my body and self image. To do these things I had to face a lot of flak and opposition from my parents. In this phase I even ran away from home to the himalayas for a week. That was a life changing experience.
- You need to understand that only the ‘taamsic’ forms of a deity are ‘bound’ by the procedure to give you the result you ‘want’. However, that is dangerous because ‘taamsic’ ‘saadhnas’ are how do I put it.. almost in the same category as dark ‘magic’. Also, the procedures and ‘mantras’ etc for them are very difficult to find. The austerities we normal folks perform, even if ‘tantric’, are to appease ‘saatvic’ deities. Those deities will do what is best for you. They are not ‘bound’ by your desire just because you got 21 priests to sit together and perform some austerities!
Now, as with the so called negative combinations, in much the same way, people get too excited just by hearing the name of some ‘positive’ ‘yoga’ and finding it there in their chart.
Then they are depressed that we have such a powerful placement in our chart, why is our life still crappy?
Well, because that is not how life works!
- Let’s say you have Mars forming ‘Ruchaka yoga’ in the 10th house. Please, don’t think that this placement is going to make things a cakewalk for you.
- It may, if other planets also support but then it may well not if other aspects don’t support.
- In fact, no matter what the case, whenever malefic planets form powerful ‘yogas’, you can be assured of struggle before the prize.
- Malefic planets never give handouts. They are going to make you work for that success down to the last drop of your blood and sweat.
- Sachin Tendulkar has ‘Ruchaka yoga’ but does that mean magically he would start a new inning on 100?
- Obviously not man! Even after scoring a double hundred in one innings of the match, irrespective of the power of planets in his chart, he had to go out there and start again from 0 in the second innings.
- Also, who knows what ‘yoga’ your opponent has?
- For example, ‘Rama’ was powerful but so was ‘Bali’.
- Now problem was that ‘Bali’ had been blessed with a boon that no matter how powerful his enemy, whenever he would come face to face with him in a fight, his strength would reduce by 50% and that would be by how much the strength of ‘Bali’ increases. Basically, opponents would lose 50% of their strength to him.
- This is a boon he got by his sheer ‘effort’ in performing tough penance.
- The only true thing in this world is that you need to ‘work’ for things. Nothing is given to you no matter what you do. Hire 21 ‘brahmins’ or 51, makes no difference my friend. It may ease things but nothing in life will get you out of the experience your soul has signed up to receive before manifesting in this body.
Okay?
That is how life works.
Please try to internalize this once and for all so that this aspect of life never escapes your conscious mind.
Now, ‘Angaraka yoga’ is the conjunction of Mars and the North node ‘Rahu’.
- See, the North node shows us what we are here to accomplish in this lifetime.
- The north node is about a ‘contractual experience’.
- You can say that your soul has signed a contract to experience those things in order to come closer to liberation.
- So there is no way for you to escape ‘Rahu’. It’s that way by design. It’s that way by the will of Lord ‘Vishnu’ himself.
- Now what happens is that whenever the North node is conjunct any planet in the chart, you need to understand that that planet represents the set of traits your soul is here to develop in order to manifest the desires it needs to experience via the North node.
- For example, I have written a great answer about this and you should read it, the ‘Guru Chandala yoga’ for instance is a combination formed by the conjunction of the North node and Jupiter.
- It is considered widely as inauspicious and said to give the native a lot of problems etc however at the basis of if it is just a very simple indicator that the native is here to develop their own sense of morality.
- See, morality, wisdom, knowledge etc. are all represented by Jupiter.
- Why?
- Because where do you learn all these concepts in society? Who from?
- Your elders and teachers of course. So therefore when the North node is conjunct Jupiter, you see that the native is here to learn all of these concepts on their own.
- They may be growing up at a time or in surroundings or circumstances where they found all of the pre established values around them, redundant. As a result of that, they choose to venture off on their own and find their own meanings to all of these significations.
- I’ve written about that in detail. You can read it. For now, it’s out of scope of the question.
Now in the same way, when Mars is conjunct the North node, the native is here to develop their aggression, will power, sexuality, focus, drive, authority and power.
- See, Mars represents the most basic instincts on planet Earth.
- Sex, aggression, focus, drive are traits that are common to all species on the planet from the lowliest of reptiles to high level primates.
- These instincts are just expressed in different ways based on the species.
- Sex, aggression, focus, drive are traits that are common to all species on the planet from the lowliest of reptiles to high level primates.
- So when the individual is here to develop their Mars, it is quite often not a pleasant experience at all.
- Why?
- Because as I said above, malefic planets will make you work to the last drop of your sweat and blood. They don’t let you have things the easy way.
- What this does is, it means that your soul has basically signed a contract to get into all kinds of troubles that Mars can get you into and out of in this lifetime.
- Notice ‘in to’ and ‘out of’.
- This can mean, on the basis of the placement, a wide range of experiences that are not pleasant in the normal waking experience of life at all.
- Why? Because a thousand maybe million things can happen to you to test your courage and survival instinct.
- And the majority of these experiences are not going to be pleasant at all.
- From accidents to surgeries, sexual violence, war, hemorrhages, conflicts with criminals and/or law enforcement, life threating circumstances and struggles, to sporting competition, military environments etc. , this can be anything.
- Mars is a tough planet to deal with when it is afflicted in your chart. Any planet conjunct the North node can be considered but ‘afflicted’ and strong.
- Early part of your life, it will be ‘afflicted’ because although strong, you don’t really know how to channel it well so quite often it can get you intro trouble. Sometimes it behaves like a weak planet because the native completely ignores the planet as it is under the influence of the North node.
- However, the entire force of the North node is behind developing this planet and its relevant traits to such a deep extent that even at its weakest, this planet forms your most dominant trait.
- Now another thing is that if you have Mars retrograde and conjunct the North node then.. phew.. it is i-n-t-e-n-s-e.
- Why?
- Because retrogression sort of compounds the relevance of a planet in your chart.
- Retrograde planets are brighter and hence ‘stronger’.
- Retrograde planets have a bigger impact on the overall energy of the native.
- Retrograde planets point out towards past life ‘karma’ in that area of your life.
- So let’s say you have Mars retrograde conjunct the North node, then we can definitely say that you are here to develop Martian traits in this lifetime because of some past life trauma or unfinished business.
- I’d like to include a notable example here of a famous person with this ‘yoga’ before moving to the remedies.
Sushil Kumar (Indian Wrestler)
- Sushil Kumar rose to fame mainly with his Bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics in the 66kg category.
- India got her second medal in wrestling after a long time and his medal lead to revival of the sport in the country. It was a great source of national pride because Indian wrestling has always been very prominent in the rural areas however wrestling on the ‘mat’ was something new which people took time ‘adapting’ to.
- After Sushil’s feat, a number of wrestlers, many his own peers, such as Yogeshwara Dutt emerged who made India proud on the world stage.
- Sushil then also won the Silver medal in 2012 London Olympics adding to his stature and reputation as one of India’s premier wrestlers.
- However, in time, despite all the accolades and respect, the wrestling circuits began to buzz with Sushil Kumar’s temperamental issues.
- There were a few instances where his juniors were so scared of him that in a qualifying match for deciding India’s representatives for the Olympics, they decided not to compete.
- While the wrestling federation dismissed as mere ‘respect’ on part of the competing wrestlers for their ‘guru’ Sushil Kumar and the respect for ‘guru shishya’ tradition in India, there seemed to be more to the story. It was rumored that Sushil would threaten any of his juniors who dared to face him in a bout with dire consequences. So they would just choose to let him have a walkover since messing with a national hero was too much of a risk.
In May 23, 2021, Sushil Kumar was arrested in his alleged involvement in the murder of former junior wrestling champion Sagar Dhankhar. He had been absconding for several days after allegations of murder were levelled against him. He was finally nabbed and a video of him beating up Sagar in a group brawl with others was discovered by the police.
(Sushil Kumar’s leaked video of the infamous brawl and him being lead to police custody)
- As a result of incriminating evidence found in the case pointing towards Sushil Kumar’s involvement in the murder, Sushil Kumar was directed to be held without bail in October 2021.
- So you see how Sushil’s aggression and fiery temperament, hunger for power and dominance is actually what lead to him achieving great heights in the field of sports and his personal maxima.
- That same fiery temperament and dominating nature is what lead to his downfall.
So now, my advice for people with this conjunction is to first of all, on a practical level, work consistently to improve all the significations of planet Mars.
- Learn to cooperate
- This is very important because Mars is a very individualistic planet. When you are learning to develop your Mars, you need to learn primarily how and where to exercise this individualism.
- A very important aspect of Mars is also that it represents your peers and your siblings, friends etc. Therefore, you need to learn to have better judgement regarding dealings and friendships with the same. For example, in Sushil’s case, he was involved with a lot of others of questionable character.
- Practice regular Meditation
- Learning how to channel your energy and be ‘still’ is very important to be able to harness your true potential.
- When you have a strong Martian drive, the first instinct is always to ‘act’ and if better discernment is not developed, this impulse can be to your detriment.
- Workout regularly
- Regular exercise is very important to give Martian energy a strong grounding and the native better control over their energy.
- Practice celibacy
- Learning to practice celibacy especially on Tuesdays is very important as Mars rules the most basic instinct of all: Sex drive!
- So by practicing conscious celibacy at least every Tuesday, you are learning how to harness and control the energetic impulsive drive of Mars.
- Pray to Lord Hanuman
- Pray to ‘Devi Baglamukhi’, the ‘mahavidya’ of planet Mars.
- Keep your Tuesdays ‘saatvic’.
- By keeping your Tuesdays completely ‘Saatvic’, you will learn how to control and resist the urges, temptations and impulses that come with a strong Martian drive.
Now, I can go on and on with these remedies and suggestions however specific remedies and suggestions like which gemstone to wear or which mantra to recite etc. can only be give after thoroughly studying a chart as they are specific to the case.
As far as the scope of this answer is concerned, on a general level, these can be very helpful and suitable to everyone.
Hope this answers your question.
