Hari Om!
That’s the thing most people don’t realize.
Numerology is the basis of everything you see around you.
Maybe the ‘scientists’ won’t agree with the predictive parts but they sure as hell use the analytical parts in number theory and algebra.
Every number has an intrinsic nature and quality about it and that forms the basis for other fields that utilize.
Tell me is it a coincidence that there are 12 signs, 12 houses, 10 ‘mahavidyas’ and 10 entities in a birth chart (9 planets + ascendant).
Obviously not. There is some kind of a purpose there.
In a previous answer I explained the logic behind the reverence given to the number 108 in Hinduism.
- 108 is the number that is recurrent in a lot of things in ‘Hinduism’.
- Within the body, there are 114 ‘chakras’ or energy centers.
- There are 7 major energy centers but in total they are 114 (major and minor ones).
- Two of these lie outside the body.
- Of the remaining 112, 4 energy centers are beyond voluntary control. They can be awakened only when the body has reached a certain level of spiritual development.
- There there are 108 energy centers that we are effectively left to work with.
Hence the importance of this number in terms of ‘mantra’ repetitions. However, there’s more to it:
- One the reasons given in the ‘puranas’ is that 108 corresponds the ‘grand design’ in which we notice a few patterns such as:
- 108* Diameter of Earth = Diameter of Sun
- 108* Diameter of Sun = Distance from Earth to Sun
- 108* Diameter of Moon = Distance from Earth to Moon
- 27 ‘nakshatras’ * 4 ‘padas’ = 108 ‘padas’ or sectors of orbit around the ecliptic.
Now, it doesn’t end there.
- There are in total 16 divisional charts.
- These divisional charts are meant to study important aspects of the individual’s personality and spiritual progress/ growth.
- Why does the pattern break here?
- Why aren’t there 12?
- Hmm… if only one could say what additional 4 aspects of a person’s existence they seek to cover that aren’t already covered in the basic 12?
Take a minute here and read the answer again and tell me.
It’s the 4 energy centers that aren’t covered in the physical existence maybe that are sought to be explained?
I don’t know how many will get what I’m about to explain next but well I try to share as much as possible hoping to help as many seekers as possible.
See the ‘Samkhya’ talks about the three entities that are the ‘mana’ ‘buddhi’ and ‘ahankar, (Mind, Intelligence and Self Concept) as indestructible entities that a being carries from one body to another.
In fact, these are the entities that search for the best physical vessel for the soul to experience life in another birth to enable continuous development and movement towards liberation.
Have you heard about the D-108 chart? (The ‘ashtottaramsa’)
Gee I wonder what this ‘amsa’ could possibly detail?
We think that it details the future birth of an individual.
Why do you think there is a ‘Dwadasamasa’ – ‘Dwadasamsa’? D-144?
If you see here 144 is the square of 12.
12 as you can see is very important in terms of the basics of life.
The D-12 is related to ‘siddhis’ and and past life.
A lot of people think that the D-60 is related to past lives but the D-60 is actually the chart of ‘conclusions’.
What do you think the D-144 is about?
I am not sure but I think it is about the source of your soul’s journey.
How is all of this related to numerology?
Where the hell did I begin how did I get here?
Well, to illustrate that recurrent patterns exist in ‘vedic’ astrology not as a coincidence but by design.
You will see similar connotations in ‘Vaastu’ as well that correspond deeply to ‘Vedic’ astrological symbolism.
For best results, I always think that it’s a great idea to use multiple tools to understand the individual’s:
- nature
- tendencies
- current state of mind
- attitude
- self concept
- intentions
- ambitions
This is why I like to use
- Graphology(study of handwriting)
- Numerology(study of numbers)
- Kinesics(body language)
- ‘Vedic’ astrology
- ‘Vaastu’(Study of architectural orientations)
together.
There will always be common intersections that occur across all these tools that help you triangulate the problem and outline a solution almost immediately.
So there isn’t any “this is better than that”.
The thing to understand is that most sciences of divination and personality analysis, spiritual guidance, have common elements in each other.
