If the starting of Rahu Mahadasha is bad, how will the ending be?

Hari Om!

(Chanting and/or listening to the ‘Kalabhairava-ashtakam’ can be very helpful in navigating difficult North node periods.)

If the beginning of ‘Rahu mahadasha’ is bad, please don’t be alarmed and go into panic mode.

  • See the energy of ‘Rahu ji’ is extremely intellectualized in nature.
  • Rahu ji’ is the reason that we have so much development and innovation in the world.
  • In fact, the bulk of the world’s industrialists are number 4s, 4 being the numerological representation of the North node.
    • There’s a reason that the North node represents all kinds of sins and addictions. It’s because quite often with a difficult North node placement in the chart, the individual finds it hard to maintain a sane grounding in the material plane.
    • As a result of that they resort to addictions like alcohol to numb the hyper vigilant and over anxious mental state.
    • This then results into bad decisions being taken which causes the cycle to repeat quite often and the native finds him or herself stuck in a vicious cycle of ‘running away’ from the pain but finding oneself being lead right back to it!

What’s the way out?

  • First of all understand that there is no good or bad ‘Rahu’ period.
    • No I’m not saying this just to make you happy.
    • It’s a fact.
    • There is no good or bad North node period.
      • That’s because North node periods not matter how they go, are bringing your soul a step closer to liberation.

Wait, aren’t all planetary time periods doing that?

  • They are but the North node especially so.
  • That’s because North node periods aren’t anything but a collection of all the experiences concentrated in a particular area of your life that the soul is seeking growth in.

‘Seeking growth’ means it doesn’t really have a lot of experience in that area to begin with.

So you basically have to learn things first hand and quite often the hard way through the simulation of ‘maaya’.

In time, if you focus on not running from experiences but towards them, in a bid to handle them with whatever you are learning through the process, you will see that your situation changes quite rapidly.

For this you will need to first of all, learn to not panic or be scared by anything that comes up.

In this you will benefit greatly from the worship of ‘Kalabhairava’, the ruling deity of ‘Rahu ji’.

There’s a reason in fact that ‘Kalabhairava’ is the ruling deity here.

  • It’s because he is said to be the embodiment of death ‘kala’ himself.
  • Therefore nothing in this world can scare him.
    • He is fear personified.
    • He is that fearsome!
      • So start by listening or chanting his ‘stotram’ whenever you feel overwhelmed.

Ideally, you should listen/ chant his ‘stotrams’ only after sun down i.e. nightfall.

Fix a time. That’s the main thing here.

But in the beginning just listen or chant his ‘ashtakam’ whenever you feel you need direction or help.

After you’ve put this ritual into place, let’s proceed to the next step.

  • So what you need to do is carefully observe your North node placement and the kind of challenges/ difficulties coming up consistently.
  • For example if you have the North node in the 7th and you undergo a breakup and right after that, betrayals in friendships and let’s say close relationships..
  • at that point it would be safe to say that the North node in the 7th house is giving you difficulties wrt relationships.

What do most people do?

  • They become cautious of everyone throughout the North node period and even if there is an opportunity to form a very profitable alliance right in front of them, they miss it squarely!

See this is something that no one is going to tell you.

They will just tell you to do a ‘shanti path’ or this or that ‘puja’ and then off you go.. you are ‘healed’ of this placement.

  1. The right attitude is to understand that ‘Rahu ji’ is not trying to punish you.
  2. He is not trying to cause you pain.
  3. He is not trying to destroy you.
    1. All that is happening is the universe is simply giving you an opportunity to experience everything you’ve been needing to experience for a while but that you had been putting off..
      1. So what if you had a divorce or breakup as soon as ‘Rahu mahadasha’ arrived?
  • So what if the relationships you had hav begun breaking down?
  • The entire experience of this placement is to learn to become good in that area i.e. for let’s say in the placement taken as an example here, if the North node is in the 7th, learn how to become better at your relationships.
  • You will not learn that by running from relationships and trying to do everything on your own!
  • That’s the best recipe for disaster right there.
  • You are going to learn how to become better at relationships by building more relationships.

If they break down, fine. We will build more!

There are 8 billion people on the planet.

No problem.

We will find replacements wherever and whenever needed.

  • What we will do differently and this is an important aspect of learning how to navigate the energies of the North node..
  • we will get some ‘help’.
  • In this case it can be a relationship coach as the pain point is the 7th house.
  • Regularly working with someone who is an expert in the area that you are not so good at, will help you learn and understand a lot of important things about how to navigate and manage relationships.
  • At the very least you will be able to carry the right mindset into any relationships you build.
  • If things fall down, it won’t come as a surprise.
  • If things break down, it won’t be a disappointment.
  • You will know how to handle the circumstances.

This is exactly the strategy that quite often helps people change their North node major period drastically.

For example one of the best examples of working with the energy of ‘Rahu ji’ in his period, I think it’s Matthew McConaughey.

(For a while Matthew’s name had come to become synonymous with romcoms and love stories. Naturally, the success began to taper off.)

  • Now here’s a guy who was really promising in the beginning of his career until he began to kill it by doing repetitive love stories or romcoms.
  • He kept trying to find different roles because he too knew that the work that he was doing wasn’t really giving him the fulfillment that he needed.
  • Finally somewhere in the middle of this ‘Rahu mahadasha’ he decided to stop doing whatever he was doing even if that meant being without work for a while.
  • That was a very gutsy move.

Here’s the catch though.

  • He didn’t stop working, he took a stand and decided that he will only do a script that truly appeals to him as an artist.
  • He didn’t run away from working as in by starting a new career or something like that.
  • No, he focused his mind double time on pursuing an opportunity that was really worth his time.
  • That’s how after almost 2 years of no work, he landed “Dallas Buyer’s Club”.

This was a very challenging role where from being the quintessential lover boy, he changed his appearance, style and image drastically by playing an AIDS patient.

  • This is the movie that won him his first Oscar!
  • After his stocks jumped as an actor, he began scoring a lot of great roles.
    • This is how he landed one of the greatest movies of our times: Christopher Nolan directed “Interstellar”.
  • His changed tactics also got him a great role in “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
  • He acted in a few really good movies after that and successfully reinvented his career.

As an actor, McConaughey’s name today is taken with respect.

This wasn’t at all the case in the early part of his ‘Rahu mahadasha’.

However, as you can see, if you work with the energies of the North node, he works with you.

And things change. Quickly.

Hope this helps.
